"Prayer With Purpose" Fall Retreat 2004
As the sun was slow setting
as we entered the quiet, serine grounds of John XXIII Pastoral Center
you could began to feel the peace that surrounded the area. This was the
ideal place to steal away for "Prayer With Purpose". We entered in
attempting with the help of GOD to enlighten and encourage women that we
have always been at the center of His Purpose. That we play a vital role
in establishing the course of Christ's Kindgdom. Prayer is mankind's
link with God. And though it may seem difficult and mysterious at times,
prayer is simply talking to with God. This retreat instructed and showed
how accessible He is. "Prayer with Purpose Retreat" helped to take away
the complex, confusing notions of what prayer should be, offering
instead and understandable guide to experiencing true communication with
God. As we went into intimate praise and worship it helped begin our
conversation with God on real life issues. Giving prayer a chance we
found that it became a vital part of our life. We want to know how to
pray? We want to know what to pray for? we found it at "Prayer With
Purpose Retreat". With dynamic praise and worship leaders; speakers such
as Evangelist Sheryl Hogan, Minister Mary Mason,Evangelist Dr. Ethel J.
Caffee Austin and Evangelist Carlene Hamilton. We now know that in order
for us to launch in the will and pleasuse of the Lord, we must be
physically and emotionally, aware of who we are and whose we are. This
retreat helped to discipline and prepare us, women who have been
prepared by GOD will have the faith and boldness to overthrow the
determined destruction of the enemy and lay the foundation for the
future of the kingdom. In this time and season GOD is preparing women to
be leaders and spiritual mothers with HIS perfect plan, order, and
timing. We are the women who will change the course of the world for
years to come - who will be the key conduits in the faith of the future.
And as women must be positioned to accomplish our role on Earth, so the
full inheritance of GOD will become manifested. We have been chosen and
being prepared for this set time, for GODS Purpose.
"Intimacy With GOD" Spring Retreat 2001
As we traveled to Twin Falls
Resort State Park in Mullins, WV in early May as the leaves and trees
where bursting into full bloom and blossoming. As we traveled, you could
feel and see the handiwork of God in everything around us from breathing
the fresh mountain air, to seeing the soft dusting of clouds in a
pristine blue sky, to the majestic mountains and streams. No doubt we
would all agree with the sentiment: There's more to life than things.
Yet much of our lives seem to be spent in the acquisition, maintenance,
and disposal of material goods. Certainly we cannot enjoy the basics of
food, shelter, and clothing without a concern for things. The truly
important things of life, however, are those which cannot be encountered
by the physical senses, purchased with money, or placed on a shelf. When
we take a look at what we value most in life we generally find family,
friends, health, peace, contentment, laughter, helping others, and
communion with the Lord foremost on our list of priorities. We had the
opportuninty to take a good look at something not made with hands, a
mountain, a star, a tree, the turn of a stream, a waterfall. There we
where able to embrace wisdom, patience and solace, and above all, the
assurance that we are not alone. Meditating on the "intangibles" as we
spent time alone with God. Our speakers, psalmist and workshops left us
with our spirits lifted and souls feed. It is so awesome what a week-end
to stare out of a window or sit in a garden, take a prayer and
meditation walk, listen to the waterfall and undertake the important
business of making a life of "Intimacy With God" can do. Our spring
retreat truly inspired us to become the "Total Women...Spiritually and
Naturally" that GOD has predestined us to be.
The Total Woman...Spiritually and Naturally
Fall Retreat 2000
We fully launched ourselves into the will and
pleasure of the Lord, as we became spiritually, physically and
emotionally, aware of who we are and whose we are. Sister's Sumlin and
Lynch ushered us into the presence of the Lord during Praise and Worship
service; preparing our hearts and minds for the Word. The retreat helped
discipline and prepare us "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). The
word "prepare" means to get ready, to put together, to produce a frame
for a future building, to gird ourselves for action". As Evangelist Dr.
Ethel Caffie-Austin ministered to us on Friday night she let us know
that one of greatest examples of godly preparation and ultimate victory
is found in the book of Esther. Even though she was an adopted orphan,
Esther experienced the favor of God through discipline and preparation;
therefore she was used of God to save an entire people. What an
encouragement to us and women everywhere. Evang. Caffie-Austin explained
that it took 12 months of preparation before Esther could be presented
to the king. That preparation consisted of two phases, one of oil of
myrrh which was used and one of beautiful perfumes were applied. The
preparation represented endured bitterness which ultimately produced a
beautiful fragance. After months of wearing oil of myrrh, Esther was
then given perfumes and other beautifiers to enhance her appeal to the
king. After this extensive preparation Esther appeared before the king
and found favor in his sight. Soon she as elevated to the royal position
of queen. Letting us know that we as women today, women of faith can
also gain great favor if we allow the anointing of God to rest upon us.
On Saturday morning rising early, with the
morning sun gently whisking the fog away as we went for our one-mile
prayer and meditation walk. The air was brisk with spurts of sunshine
enabling us to feel the warmth of God as we viewed the grandure and
awesomeness of Gods handy work; as the season changed upon the mountains
that surrounded the campgrounds from every side. We were engulfed with
the Love of God, as we meditated on HIS goodness, mercy, longsuffering,
and grace toward us. As we completed our walk we entered the chapel
located between the two ponds. Entering into the chapel filling every
pew and around the walls our voices of jubilation rang out in the
morning air and the spirit of the Lord fill the building as Minister
Shirley Walker led us in prayer.
During Morning Glory Service, Minister Pamm
Moore, ministered to us from Isaiah 58, Psalms 91 and Matthew 25,
letting us know how to fast and that we are not only to fast from foods
but from things that are toxic to our spiritual growth in the Lord.
Somethings that we can fast from can be television, music that does not
edify the spirit man, etc. When we go to God we must go with a humble
heart. Knowing that when we fast it cleanses our mind and it heals. God
is calling us to be still and know that He is GOD. Knowing that He is
our Redeemer and we must adjust our time to Gods time, by renewing our
mind to come in agreement with HIM. We need to retreat (spend time with
GOD), inorder that we can hear Him and when we hear Him we need to walk
therein. As the Lord reveals things to us that we must do for our
spiritual growth, we must weed the garden of our life from weeds and
clutter that hinder us from being the total woman that we should be.
Our seminar speakers where Sister Tonya
Gerencir who taught on "Vote for Mountain Removal" encouraging us to
identify and remove the limitations that prevent us from living a
healthy lifestyle. And to take a look at the whole person; our
environment, behavior, capabilities, beliefs, identity and our
relationshp with Christ. According to Mark 11:23, believe that before we
can "speak to the mountain" we need to "identify the mountain". This
teaching gave us eyes to see the mountains we are facing, a voice to
speak to those mountains, and feet to enable us to walk on the path to
good health and spiritual growth. Brother Charles Haught of Edward Jones
Investments spoke to us on "Smart Women Finish Rich"; he impressed upon
us the fact that in reality women live longer than men and we need to
prepare in order that we can be able to live comfortably in our senior
years. Most of all those of us that are married please "know where the
stuff is"; that is the insurance policies, wills, mortgage information
and etc
He emphasized that sometimes a women we tend to let the man
handle everything. As singles or divorced women we have to prepare also;
most of all we need to invest now with dedication to live comfortably.
And what can be said for Dr. Jenee' Walker - Charleston Area Medical
Center who brought to us "Thinking Styles"; ministering healing for the
soul, she gave us Spiritual Healing Instructions that she uses in her
daily practice: 1)Claim and Clarify our hopes and dreams 2)See God's
pathway for our life 3)Detoxify! Remove the chemical and emotional haze
a)Physical...alchohol/drugs, food, caffeine etc. b)Emotional..Toxic
people, relationships 4)Get rid of the Clutter..reorganize your personal
relationships and mental state 5)Guard your mind, entertain NO
negativity 6)Remember pass successes. Celebrate our Victories! 7)Listen
and Be Still 8)Committ 9)Act! Claim our POWER. After our seminars we
moved into our PAMPER ME SESSION where we received massages, pedicures,
facials and make-overs and did we ever feel special.
Then came saturday night.....Saturday Night
Live would be more like it. The Anointing of the Lord consumed the room
as an atmosphere of praise and jubilation in songs of rejoicing rang out
a corporate melodious melody unto the Lord. We where engulfed with the
Anointing of God, which overwhelmed us by His presence. As His Anointing
filled our mouths and hearts we moved into a spirit of worship which
prepared us to receive the Anointed Word from Evangelist Kim Schofield,
of United Apostolic Church. She came with such an Anointing when she
ministered to us and as the Power of God worked through her, words can't
express it, I can only say once again "HE IS SO GOD".
High Praise 2000 on March 17 and 18 was
exactly what the Lord had predestined it to be. On Friday night the
service started with an anointed praise and worship service lead by
Judah of the Temple of Faith Church in Cross Lanes, WV. The songs of
praise that filled the building went up before the Lord as we offered
perpetual praise unto HIM. Minister Judy Drummond of the New Covenant
Baptist Church continued the feed the spirit of praise as she rendered
the scripture and prayer for High Praise 2000. The Temple of Faith Mass
Choir continued to minister to our spirits as each song ministered and
prepared our minds and spirits for the WORD to enter into our hearts. As
the SPIRIT moved within our midst, Elder Vernon Chappel of the “River”
Church in Raleigh, NC along with Minister Tina Brady began to worship
and praise the LORD in a melody of Glory, Honor, Majesty and
Thanksgiving welcoming HIM into our presence. When suddenly without
introduction the anointed voice of Pastor Brady blended in. What a
harmonious sound of praise and worship unto the LORD. By this time we
were anxiously awaiting to be fed the RICH WORD. As we sat there we
where totally saturated and in a total realm of praise and worship,
Pastor Brady began to minister, delivering a fresh Word from the LORD on
“I’m Wasted”. Never have I heard the teaching of JESUS, Mary and Martha
the way she walked us through the scripture. The SPIRIT swept through
the auditorium in a way that left the congregation with hands raised in
worship and adoration, kneeling in humble submission with tears of
thankfulness streaming down our faces and rivers of JOY flooded
our souls.
On Saturday night, we were ushered into praise and worship by Evangelist
Quandora Hornbuckle of Greater Emmanuel Church in West Charleston. The
voices of Praise and Victory rang out once again we entered into the
Sweet Presence of the Lord. Sister Naomi Jordan of the New Jerusalem
Non-Denominational Church in Kanawha City rendered a scripture of praise
as Minister Young, also of New Jerusalem lead us to the Throne of Grace
as we communed in prayers of Thanksgiving. Sister Olinda Smith of the
Original Glorious Church in Beckley, WV was our featured soloist for the
evening. As she ministered we were carried once again into a spiritual
realm to where we wanted all the overflow of the Spirit. As the Spirit
hovered over us thru the music ministry of Elder Chappel and Minister
Brady we moved into the rich Word once more delivered by Pastor Sheryl
Brady as she ministered “Push To Pursuit”; letting us know that if we
are in a church setting and not experiencing the fullness of the WORD
and we feel an extra tugging knowing that the Lord has even a greater
experience for us, we need to engulf ourselves into the Word so that we
can get the fullness of what the Lord has predestined for us. If you are
one of those who feels that extra tugging in you spirit and would like
to plunge into the fullness you need to hear the message of “Push To
Pursuit” contact us at by email: wwapurpose.org and you will be bless
and we will see that you get a copy.
Conference 1999 "Perpetual Praise, Prayer and Power"
Charleston Civic Center
On Friday and Saturday morning a group of true worshipers gathered for
consecration, dedication and early morning prayer. As the prayer turned
into a sweet anointing that permeated the atmosphere which hearld into a
song of praise and worship unto the Lord through Sister Gail Moor. This
carried us into praise and worship service as Bishop Roy Welch from the
Westside Church of the Nazarene lead us in prayer and blessed us with an
awesome testimony of the Healing Power of GOD in the life of his wife.
This prepared our hearts and minds for the dynamic word of God coming
through Pastor E. Alphonso Heyliger of Ferguson Memorial Baptist Church
in Dunbar, WV on Friday morning. On Saturday morning, Bishop Willie
Schofield of Glorious Liberty Apostolic Church continued in the flow of
the anointing as he ministered to us. As these two servants of GOD
ministered the WORD, the anointing set upon us and the spirit of the
Lord filled the house; in Morning Glory Service. The spirit moved on
into our afternoon session as Evangelist Ella Coleman, Publisher of
Purpose Magazine and Evangelist Deloris Plowden of Baltimore, Maryland
came under the same umbrella with such a fresh anointed WORD letting us
know that when we put the Lord first He will take us to levels that are
beyond our comprehension. What can I say, at this point we were so high
in the spirit we didn't feel that we could go any further, until the
Spirit swept through the house and the POWER of GOD fell in such and
overwhelming way. Friday night, what can I say, how can I say
it....Evangelist Durance Pace, of College Park, Georgia...when you think
that there is nothing left, or you are unable to receive anything else
(that is your physical man..the spirit man say MORE).....the anointed
voice of Evangelist Pace melodiously rang out a song, "It's Already
Done" and did she minister to us letting us know that while we are
wanting and waiting for God to move, it was Already Done. The
deliverances, the healings, the anointings, the miracles; they are
Already Done, WE have to come OUR PLACE in GOD to receive it.
A very special part of Conference 99' was "Yes 2 the King" Youth
Celebration ("I'm Still Standing...So Can You") on Saturday afternoon.
We were so blessed by the young people that are on FIRE for the Lord. We
had testimonies from young people about their experiences as they walk
with the Lord and how he delivers, saves, sets free, keeps (if you want
to be kept) and INTIMACY with JESUS. Testimonies came from Renee' of
Marietta, Georgia, Lynette and student at Temple University in
Pennsylvania and John a student at Ohio State University. The "Anointed
Expressions" mime group from Glorious Liberty Church in Charleston, WV
and "Now Weapon" a gospel rap (brother and sister) team from
Parkersburg, WV helped to show the diversity of praising the Lord as
they ministered to us and gave PRAISE to the LORD.
We were also blessed with special music from the "Anointed Sisters With
Voices" from Heart of God Ministries of Beckley, WV; Newsome Gospel
Choir of First Baptist Church, Charleston, WV; soloist Jamie Wright of
Knoxville, Tennessee; soloist Olinda Smith of Beckley, WV and the "Women
With A Purpose Ensemble" under the direction of Dr. Ethel J. Caffie-Austin
of Charleston, WV. Ambryan Willis and Angela Miller young women from the
First Baptist Church of St. Albans under the direction of Donna Pethel
blessed us with a dramatization of the Samaritan Woman and the Nineties
Woman.
What more can I say, for words seem so empty when trying to reflect on
the Omnipotence of GOD. We THANK each of You for yielding to the Voice
of the Lord and taking an active part in this Conference. For without
you and your Prayers, the Unity that has been formed would not have been
possible. We are in anticipation of even greater things happening as we
unite together for one common cause in March for "HIGH PRAISE 2000" as
we continue to LIFT UP THE NAME OF JESUS and bring down denominational
and racial barriers, which hinder the bringing down of strongholds in
our cities, states and country. As we join together in UNITY we become
the True Church which is the body of CHRIST. May God continue to Bless
each of You in each and every endeavor as we continue to Unite in
"Perpetual Praise, Prayer and Power" and prepare of "HIGH PRAISE 2000".
Once more I must say, "HE IS SO GOD"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1997
Charleston House Holiday Inn
"Plunging Into The POWER of GOD" was the theme for 97'. Without a doubt
we plunged in with no inhibitions. The scripture was from Philippians 3:
1 0.
On Friday, evening we opened with dedication and prayer, the anointed
praise and worship services lead by Sis. Carlita Lynch, of Grace and
Mercy Apostolic Temple, Parkersburg and Evang. Brenda Camp, of Temple of
Faith, Cross Lanes moved us into a realm of praise and worship that
prepared our hearts and minds for what the Lord was leading us into.
Evang. Deloris Plowden of Baltimore, MD the speaker for the evening
blessed our very souls as she ministered to us not to think about it
just Plunge into the Power of GOD. On Saturday morning we where blessed
again by the teaching of Evang. Lois Daniels of Greater Emmanuel
Lighthouse, Beckley, WV on "How to Effectively Utilize GODS POWER" the
anointing that flowed through the rich word as she taught and then spoke
at our evening banquet overshadowed us. On that night Evang. Wilma
Starkey of United Apostolic Faith, Beckley, NW carried us deeper into
the Power of GOD. There is not ample space to tell how the Lord moved.
You must come to this years conference and experience the Anointing of
the Lord yourselves. Six young people attending another function came
into service asking for prayer, four of those young people experienced
the True Power of GOD on their lives.
We thank GOD for our sisters from Rimson Memorial, First Baptist, Grace
and Mercy, Temple of Faith, Bride of Christ, Glorious Liberty, United
Apostolic Faith, and Greater Emmanuel for being with us and invite you
to join us this year.
Fall Retreat 1996
Camp Virgil Tate, Pocatalico, West Virginia
"But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove
what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God. " Romans
12:2
Whether you are a participant or a clinician, when you attend the "Women
With A Purpose" Conference you will know and understand your purpose
according to the scriptures.
As a clinician in 1996, I was renewed, revived and revitalized because I
attended this awesome retreat. The theme for the retreat 1996 was Romans
8:28-31. "And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." If
you WANT to know your purpose in God, if you NEED to know your purpose
in God, if you
THINK you know your purpose in God I recommend that you attend the
up-coming "Women With Purpose" conference on November 20 - 22, 1998. If
you decide to attend this conference, your mind will be renewed and you
will be able to recognize that good and acceptable, and perfect will of
God for your life. Hope to see you at the conference.
